Color It
Gorgeous
The February 2011 issue is my favorite issue
yet! I love that you included all the paint
colors used in the rooms. My husband and
I just purchased our first home, and we
couldn't decide on paint colors. We even
used a couple of different paint simulators,
but hands down, nothing even came close
to the Home section in your February issue.
Thanks to BHG, we were able to choose
paint colors for our entire house!

I had a terrible case of the winter blues
until I had a chance to sit down with the
February issue of BHG. What a great pick-
me-up! The entire issue was so bright and
cheery and gave me some great ideas. Pm no
gardener, but I loved “The Early Show" and
“First Blush." (Hellebores. Who knew?)
Thanks again for taking away the cold
and drearies.

Tomatoes, off
the vine and into my mouth.

Love
growing corn. And it’s so fun to
go out and pick some cobs just
before cooking. Delish!

Jalapenos! I
slice them, stuff them with cream
cheese, wrap them in bacon, and
then bake. Heaven in your mouth.

Sugar
snap peas. The plants get so tall
and the pea pods get so chubby.
Most of them never even make it
into the house after picking. Our
daughters eat the peas— I get the
edible pods.

Mixed
greens. They're easy to grow in
a container on the deck. (No
pesky deer get them there!)
You can start a couple of rows
going, and in a few weeks start
a few more rows. That way you
have fresh greens all season.
Love them!

Potatoes, no
question. Easy to plant, easy to
grow, and easy to harvest, and
much better tasting than the
ones we buy at the grocery store.
I even enjoy hand-picking any
beetles on the plants and putting
them in a soapy water spa.
Love Me Tender
It's nice to see such
different recipes in
the February issue.
I've never cooked any
bone-in meats. Wish
me luck!

top tom ato picks:
Yellow Pear (pretty, productive, different)
Brandywine (heirloom and delicious!)
Lemon Boy (for those who think the yellows taste best of all, as I do)
Early Girl (hard to beat the modern, improved varieties for overall
dependability and productivity)
